Welcome to The Clubhouse (Formerly known as Fritton Arms)

The Clubhouse, formerly known as Fritton Arms, is a charming hotel located in picturesque Fritton, Great Yarmouth. With a commendable rating of 4.4, it offers guests a delightful retreat surrounded by leafy grounds and the tranquil waters of Fritton Lake. This upmarket establishment is perfect for families, couples, and friends looking to unwind and recharge.

Guests frequently rave about the breathtaking views and the well-appointed rooms. Colin Hillier, one satisfied customer, praised the comfort of the beds and the serene scenery that overlooks the hotel grounds. He highlighted the excellent dining experience, noting that every bite was enjoyable, and firmly stated that he would return for another visit.

The amenities at The Clubhouse cater to diverse needs, ensuring an enjoyable stay for all ages. Sean Wilson appreciated the relaxing atmosphere and the friendly staff who always go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome. He particularly recommended the floating sauna, which offers stunning views of the lake, adding a unique touch to the overall experience. The heated outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, and various activities for children also contribute to making this destination a family favorite. David Orders echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the fantastic open water swimming sessions and the top-notch courts.

The hotel's restaurant has garnered positive mentions as well. Michael enjoyed the delicious offerings, including chicken burgers and roast lamb, providing a culinary experience that matches the scenic surroundings. However, recent feedback indicates areas for improvement. Joanna McLeod pointed out some maintenance issues in her room, from leaking taps to unsanitary carpets, which could detract from an otherwise lovely experience.

Despite these hiccups, many have found The Clubhouse to be an inviting and friendly place. Abbey McGrath shared her lovely family break, highlighting the warm atmosphere that permeates the hotel, making it an ideal venue for gatherings, anniversaries, or just a peaceful getaway. Laura Cottom celebrated an unforgettable anniversary stay, praising the exemplary service provided by the staff, particularly the new manager, whose hospitality left a lasting impression.

For those seeking outdoor adventures, The Clubhouse is well-positioned near notable attractions like the Broads National Park, Pleasurewood Hills Family Theme Park, and the Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach. This proximity to attractions adds further value to the experience, making it easy for guests to explore and enjoy various activities.

In summary, The Clubhouse (formerly Fritton Arms) embodies a blend of comfort, hospitality, and scenic beauty. While it shines in many areas, addressing maintenance aspects could elevate this hotel to a truly exceptional level. Nonetheless, the warm staff, fantastic food, and family-friendly amenities make it a spot worth visiting again and again.

A nice relaxing place to come to unwind. Friendly staff always makes you feel welcome. The floating sauna is a must for anyone who visits this amazing place, the view of the lake from the sauna is something spectacular. It has everything for grown ups and children to enjoy with a heated outside swimming pool, tennis courts and children's play area for small and larger kids to enjoy. Highly recommend here for a nice get getaway

Fritton Lake is an amazing place for members and holiday guests. I love the open water swimming—clear waters, well-organized sessions, and a refreshing challenge every time. The tennis courts are top-notch. Basketball and running trails keep the energy high. My wife swears by the floating sauna—especially in the cooler months, it's her go-to spot with a short dip to cool off in the lake. Summer evenings are perfect for lounging outdoors with a cold beer, soaking up the sun. Come winter, inside the cozy pub with a glass of red by the fire. The kids have endless space to explore—play areas, football pitches, cricket nets, and even croquet. They love biking around and discovering new spots, including the bird-watching area. It's safe, expansive, and keeps them engaged. The staff here are consistently welcoming and friendly. Will, in particular, is amazing, always ensuring our stays are memorable.

Had a lovely 1 night stay at The Clubhouse. The facilities, immediate grounds, service and particularly the food are really great. However, the hotel itself lets it down. The rooms are nice but everything was almost working; taps leaking, mismatch paint on walls, broken handles, the most unsanitary carpet I’ve ever seen in a hotel and my first time experiencing a glow in the dark fire alarm mounted right above the bed. Just feels a bit shabby and worn for the price. Additionally, the signposted walk that directs you past the top of the grounds has lots of building equipment and a skip full of rubbish which wasn’t really the nice evening woodland vibe we were going for. Finally, you have to pay £15 each to do the water sport safety / swimming assessment to be able to use the equipment (even though that actually doesn’t seem to be very well monitored). This is because the lake isn’t lifeguarded. I don’t feel that it should be the guests who to front this factor, particularly at a pretty hefty price. Surely £8 or less would be more suitable?

What a gem of a place! The setting, the pool, the food, the staff were all 1st class. We have a beautiful 2 night stay for our Anniversary. Nothing was too much trouble. We had the pleasure of being looked after by the new manager, he had only been there a few days. I hope he stays as he was the perfect host. He really will be a a credit to you. I must also mention to breakfast waitresses. They were so professional, even when very busy. We can't wait to come back again, we felt so comfortable and relaxed at this stunning establishment! Thank you all! Laura & Dean Cottom

The area is lovely and very picturesque. If you have a young family it is a lovely rest bite, as there is two parks for the kids to play at, foot golf, swimming pool or the lake!! Plus they offer a variety of facilities on the water such as paddle boarding. The clubhouse is friendly, with nice food. We had the chicken burger, burgers and roast lamb. All where delicious. Overall, when you compare to other similar venues such as soho farmhouse or daylesford farm, they are both expensive and do not have offer the ability to connect with nature and are double or triple the price!!
